The Matchmaker is a minor antagonist in Mulan and its sequel.
In the original film, she was voiced by Miriam Margolyes. In the sequel, was voiced by April Winchell.
Why Isn't She Heroic Nor Villainous?
- She tell that Mulan she will never give her family honor, because she is a misogynist despite being a woman, which makes her more of a jerk than a villain.
Biography
Mulan
When the Matchmaker called Mulan first for arranging her a marriage, she puts Mulan through a series of evaluations. She then told Mulan to ecite "The Final Admonition". Later she had Mulan to pour her a tea. When Mulan noticed that Cri-Kee was in the cup, Mulan tried to get it back from the Matchmaker, but she accidentally pour the tea on the Matchmaker's face. When Cri-Kee jumped into her dress, the Matchmaker fell on hearth and her dress caught on fire. Outside, Mulan managed to put the fire on the Matchmaker by pouring tea on her. The Matchmaker then snapped at Mulan that she will never bring her family honor.

When Yao, Ling, and Chien Po visited the Matchmaker, things went wrong with them as well and she threw out the trio.
